When Mississippi State comes to the Liberty Bowl later this month, Bulldogs fans may want to think twice about bringing their coveted cowbells.
The SEC has imposed a $25-thousand dollar fine on the school for violation of the league's Artificial Noisemaker Policy during the 2013 football season.
The Cowbells are a long-standing tradition at Mississippi State, and fans *ARE* allowed to ring them freely during games on the MSU campus.
SEC commissioner Mike Slive noted the history of the cowbell at State, but added that continued violation of the policy could lead to more penalties and possibly a review of the existing rules regarding noisemakers.
Mississippi State was also cited following the 2010 season.
