JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)-- A Jonesboro man faces felony charges after police say he fondled a teenage girl in a restaurant parking lot.

Thomas Wayne Parish, 32, is charged with sexual assault-4th degree.

According to the initial police report, on Friday, Dec. 13, Parish drove the girl to McDonald's, 111 E. Highland, to get breakfast.

While in the parking lot the girl told police Parish began asking her questions about sex then he "put his hands down her panties."

When the girl told Parish to stop, he did but told her not to tell anyone, the report stated.

The girl claimed the following day Parish got on top of her while "play fighting" with her and tried to kiss her.

According to Officer Kiandra McCain's report, the girl said Parish tried to put his hands in her panties again and she said "no."

She told police Parish told her to "forget everything" that had happened.

A week later, on Friday, Dec. 20, the girl told her mother about the incidents.  The mother then confronted Parish, McCain reported.

Initially Parish denied the claims then the following day when the mother asked him about the allegations he reportedly admitted to fondling the girl.

The mother then called police.  Parish left the scene before officers arrived and a BOLO (be on the lookout) was issued.  A K9 unit was also called in to search for Parish.

A short time later a Craighead County sheriff's deputy found Parish standing near a wooded area on Emerson Drive.  The deputy turned Parish over to a Jonesboro police officer who arrested him without incident.

At last report, Parish was being held in the Craighead County Detention Center awaiting a probable cause hearing.
