Jonesboro police find drugs in woman's bra & man's underwear

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Jonesboro police arrested two people afterthey found drugs inside a woman's bra and another man's underwear this weekend.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on Sunday, an officer saw Tonya Romano, 39,at the Dollar General store on Gee Street. The officer found Romano hadwarrants through Jonesboro and Craighead County.

The officer asked Romano to exit the store and placed her intohandcuffs while they search her and her truck.

While searching her purse, police found four small bags ofmethamphetamine with over 11 grams, a meth pipe with residue, a bag of unusedneedles, several prescription pills, and small empty plastic bags.

Nothing was found inside the rest of the truck. When she was takento the Craighead County Jail, a detention officer found a bag with over 4 gramsof meth inside her bra.

She was charged with a felony for possession of a controlledsubstance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of meth with intentto deliver.

Romano is still in jail in lieu of a $3,427 cash bond and probablecause hearing.

In a non-related case, Jonesboro police charged David Burgess, 24,for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlledsubstance with purpose to deliver after a traffic stop.

The officer pulled him over at the intersection of Main andJohnson because of an illegal window tint.

Burgess was cited for the illegal tint. In the police report, theofficer explained he knew Burgess was on parole and began to search him. Theofficer said he knew Burgess, "kept controlled substance in his underwear area."

The officer found a plastic bag with suspected marijuana insidehis underwear. Another officer took Burgess to his home to continue a search ofhis residence.
