JONESBORO, AR (ASU) – The Arkansas State football team has signed a pair of Itawamba (Miss.) Community College standouts, including linebacker Carderious Dean and offensive lineman Kyle Harris.
Dean and Harris will both have two years of eligibility remaining with the Red Wolves and will be able to practice with the team during its 2014 spring camp as midyear signees.
The 6-3, 235-pound Dean recorded 68 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack and a pass break-up during the 2013 season. He earned a place on the MACJC All-Star Football Classic roster, recording four tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss in the game. Dean's freshman campaign saw him tally 22 tackles, three tackles for loss and a half sack. Prior to attending ICC, he earned all-district recognition at Byhalia (Miss.) High School. He was also named Byahlia's Most Improved Player as a senior.
Harris, standing 6-4 and weighing 280 pounds, originally signed with South Carolina out of high school before transferring to ICC. He was part of Itawamba's offensive line that helped lead the Indians to 429.3 yards of total offense per game this season. He played in three games as a true freshman at South Carolina in 2011 before receiving a medical redshirt for the 2012 season that saw him participate in four contests, including one as a starter.
