Police: 2 people injured in Raytown shooting

RAYTOWN, MO (KCTV) -

Police said two people were injured in a shooting in Raytown on Saturday.

The shooting was reported about 4:05 p.m. at 74th Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard.

Hours later police were still on scene investigating. They roped off several blocks, and traffic on Blue Ridge was being turned around.

Investigators laid out markers indicating where they found bullet casings.

Police said it was a shooting between two cars. Officers found one of the cars nearby with what appeared to be bullet holes in it.

There were two people hurt inside the car. They were rushed to the hospital, but there's no word yet on their condition.

Neighbors said they are shaken after hearing lots of gunfire.

"About 13 shots maybe more - it woke my up baby," said neighbor Catarina Flores.

Police said it's too early to release any suspect names or vehicle descriptions. They're asking anyone with information to call Raytown police or the TIPS hotline, 816-474-TIPS (8477).
