JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A memorial fund has been created for an 11-year-old girl who died after she became trapped beneath a pipe in a water-filled ditch for 20 minutes.
Kyria Seymour of Jonesboro died Saturday, April 19, at LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN. A memorial fund has been created for an 11-year-old girl who died after she became trapped beneath a pipe in a water-filled ditch for 20 minutes.

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – While looking for a woman with valid warrants out of the Jonesboro Police Department, officers came upon another man who had drugs inside a motel room.

At around 7 a.m., officers headed out to the Motel 6 on Caraway to look for Donna Giles. Giles had several warrants out and was believed to be staying in the motel. A man answered the door to the room rented out by Donna Giles.

Police heard sounds from inside the room that made them think it was Giles. When police searched the room they found a joint and some rolling papers on the bathroom floor.

Officers also found two syringes in the trash can.

Officers arrested Michael McGinty, 26, for possession of marijuana. The officer checked the suspect's name through dispatch and found he was on felony probation. Officers also learned that McGinty had not reported to his probation officer.

McGinty's wife told police she knew her husband used meth but he tried to hide it from her.

When officers tried to grab the syringes, they found a bag with suspected meth under a towel.

McGinty was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center and was charged with felony of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McGinty was also charged with a misdemeanor for possession of marijuana and obstruction of governmental operations.

Giles still has warrants out of JPD.
