Hogs closes out perfect 2013 In Bud Walton Arena

FAYETTEVILLE (U of A) - The Razorbacks closed out 2013 with a 89-48 victory over High Point, recording the third perfect calendar year in Bud Walton Arena history.

Arkansas started each half on 9-0 runs, asserting their dominance over the Panthers early and often with a continued strength from the bench, which provided 51 Razorback points.

"That was a very complete performance by our basketball team from start to finish," said head coach Mike Anderson. "I put three words on the board before these guys came out and one of them was 'Stops.' We started that game off with around seven multiple stops. That really ignited our defense and they were everywhere."

Five Razorbacks finished the night in double figures on an extremely balanced offensive attack, with freshman Bobby Portis leading the way at 16. Michael Qualls and Moses Kinglsey added 12 each, followed closely by senior Coty Clarke and sophomore Anthlon Bell at 11, reemerging as a threat from downtown after a recent subdued presence.

Freshman Bobby Portis is making his presence known under the basket, grabbing a nine rebounds as well as notching his eighth straight game in double figures with 16 points. Fellow freshman big man Moses Kingsleyalso came one rebound short of his second double-double, scoring 12 points on 4-7 and adding nine boards.

Keeping #SCTop10 in business, the Razorbacks slammed down five earth shattering dunks, with two from sophomore Qualls and one each from Jacorey Williams, Clarke and Portis.

Head coach Mike Anderson's #Fastest40 style of play had the Panthers flustered from the get-go, with the Razorbacks pouring in 36 points on 25 turnovers. Senior Kikko Haydar has a career high 4 steals as part of the team's season high 16. When forcing 20 or more turnovers, coach Anderson's Arkansas teams are 18-1.

Devonte Wallace led the Panthers with 13 points

The Razorbacks remain the only SEC team to score 70 points or more in each game this season and have done so in 14 straight games.
