Man arrested for fighting, injuring Jonesboro officers


JONESBORO, AR  (KAIT) – Jonesboro police arrested a man for fighting with officers during a traffic stop, after he wouldn't identify himself, according to a Jonesboro Police report.

Doug Formon at JPD said three officers were hurt when Marlow Lamont Williams, 37, gave a false name and resisted to cooperate.

The report states Williams tried to take a taser from one officer after she tried to stun him.

Williams was charged with possession of a controlled substance, battery with injury to police officers, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of firearms by certain person, fleeing, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental operations. He's due back in court January 31st.

Formon said the officers involved sustained minor injuries.
