Flight from Akron makes emergency landing in Tennessee

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

US Airways Express Flight 4691 from Akron to Charlotte, North Carolina, made an emergency landing in Bristol, Tennessee Friday afternoon.

A spokesperson for US Airways says while in flight, the captain's windshield developed a crack. The pilot declared an emergency and diverted to the nearest airport.

The plane landed without incident and was able to taxi to the gate.

US Airways is now bussing passengers to Charlotte, NC.

No word yet on how or why the windshield cracked.

The plane had 50 passengers and three crew members.

Nobody was injured.
