SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

The winter weather that dropped as much as a foot of snow in many areas is believed to be the cause of a roof collapse in Saginaw Township.

The incident happened around 3:45 a.m. Monday morning at the K-Mart store at 5105 Gratiot Road.

Police received a report of activated sprinkler system inside the store. When they arrived on the scene, they found the roof collapse. There was a water main break confirmed on the premises.

Most of the damage was sustained in the back part of the store. The store is closed for business Monday.

No one was inside the building when the incident took place. No injuries were reported.
