BLACK ROCK, AR (KAIT) – An undercover drug buy landed two Region 8 men behind bars.
On Friday, Jan. 3, Lawrence County sheriff's deputies and Black Rock police officers arrested Thornton Eugene Lester, 29, of Imboden and Winston Hitchcock, 58, of Pocahontas on numerous drug charges.
According to Sheriff Jody Dotson, undercover detectives used an informant to purchase meth from Lester.
After the buy, which Dotson said was videotaped, officers stopped Lester's vehicle and placed him under arrest.
While searching Lester, officers reportedly found marijuana, papers, a pipe and the marked drug buy.
Dotson said investigators then arrested Hitchcock after they found meth, prescription drugs and digital scales on his side of the vehicle.
Both men are currently being held in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting bond hearings.
Lester was charged with delivery of a controlled substance (meth), possession of a controlled substance (meth, marijuana and prescription drugs) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hitchcock was charged with possession of a controlled substance (meth and prescription drugs) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
