List of cold weather closings and delays

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - As the strong cold front persists through the Carolinas, the WMBF Storm Team is tracking another round of temperatures the teens and lower Wednesday morning.

Several districts in the area will again be delayed Wednesday morning - check back here for the latest delay and closing information for Wednesday as we work to confirm it with the schools:

Darlington County School District students will have a two-hour delay Wednesday, January 8 due to inclement weather. All school district employees will report to work at their normal times.

Because of the district will be on a two-hour delay, schools will not provide breakfast. Officials urge parents to make sure their children eat before leaving for school. Information about 4k half-day classes will be sent later Tuesday.

Florence School District One: Due to extremely cold morning temperatures, Florence One Schools will operate on a two-hour delayed schedule on Wednesday, January 8. Elementary schools will start at 9:45 a.m., middle and high schools will start at 10:30 a.m.

School buses will pick students up two hours later than their normal scheduled times. All Florence One employees will report to work on the regular schedule.

To accommodate working parents with school car riders and school employees with children, all school buildings will be open to receive students who may arrive early on Wednesday. Elementary schools will be open to receive students at 7:00 a.m.; middle and high schools students will be open to receive students at 7:30 a.m.

Georgetown County School District will operate on a two-hour delay for students on January 8. Buses will run two hours later than normal, and school classes will begin two hours later than normal.

However, schools will be open at their normal times for parents who need to drop off their children. District employees will report to work at normal time.

Marion County Schools will be operating on a two hour delay for students and staff Wednesday morning due to weather.

The Marlboro County School District will delay the start of school for students on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 for two hours. This delay is for students only. All district employees should report to their work location at their normal starting time.


Below is information that was provided on Monday regarding Tuesday morning - note that this information may not be applicable for Wednesday morning.

TUESDAY SCHOOL INFORMATION:

Darlington County School District students will have a two-hour delay Tuesday, January 7 due to inclement weather. All school district employees will report to work at their normal times.

The morning sessions of 4K and 5K HALF-day classes will be canceled. CDEPP FULL-day classes will operate on a 2-hour delay.

Florence One Schools will operate on a two-hour delayed schedule on Tuesday morning January 7. Students are asked to report to school two hours later than normal. Buses will pick up students two hours later than the normal pick-up times, and schools will start two hours later than normal hours of operation. All Florence School District One employees will report to work on a regular schedule.

Florence School District 3 has an extra mechanic on standby, in case the cold weather cause problems for the district's buses. They expect buses may be delayed but will operate on a normal schedule.

They have canceled all after-school programs, evening high school and all sports activities, including the scheduled athletic booster club meeting, on Tuesday.

Florence School District 4 will also operate on a two-hour delay for students. Staff should report to work at their normal time.

Students and faculty at Francis Marion University are heading back for their first day of the spring semester on Tuesday. The school is operating on a normal schedule with no delays.

Georgetown County School District will operate on a two-hour delay for students. Buses will run two hours later than normal, and school classes will begin two hours later than normal. However, schools will be open at their normal times for parents who need to drop off their children. District employees will report to work at normal time.

Horry County Schools will be operating on a normal schedule. They advise that you dress your child as warm as possible and reduce the amount of time they must wait outside for the carpool or bus. Horry County Schools will not allow outside activities during the day for students.

Maranatha Christian School in Florence will be operating on a two-hour delay for K-12 students. childcare will open at 8:30 a.m. Staff and faculty should report at their normal time.

Marion County Schools will be operating on a two hour delay for students and staff Tuesday morning due to weather.

The Public Schools of Robeson County will have a two hour delay on Tuesday, Jan. 7. School will begin at 10 a.m. for students and school staff. Administrative Staff and essential school personnel are to report at normal time. No breakfast will be served due to the delay.

This 2 hour delay includes Shining Stars Pre-school. PSRC Athletic events for Tuesday are on a regular schedule.

Marlboro County Schools will be operating on a two-hour delay Tuesday. Faculty and staff will report at regular time
