No one injured in South Dougherty fire

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

A shed was lost, and part of an adjacent mobile home was damaged, but there were no injuries in a fire on Elliott Drive, off South County Line Road,  about 4:30 Monday afternoon.

Fire fighters think the blaze originated in the shed, and then moved to the mobile, Jimmy and Bernice Mathis got out without injury, and their two cats were also saved from the heat and smoke.

They will stay with relatives tonight.

The extent of damage to the home wasn't known by air time, and AFD is looking into the cause of the fire.

Five years ago Alex was bound to a wheelchair. in January of 2011, he was diagnosed with strep throat, the flu and mono all within a two week period. For five months Alex was bound to a wheel chair. One day he just got up and walked. Medical experts had no explanation for any of it.  ...
