Cherokee Village man pulled over on traffic violation, arrested for meth

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A Cherokee Village man pulled over for a traffic violation is now behind bars on drug charges.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Jody Dotson, David Adams, 37, was pulled over on January 2 by Black Rock police.

Adams told police he did not have anything illegal in his possession. A K9 unit with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene and ran a check on the car.

The K9 alerted police and officers found meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Adams was charged with possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and some traffic violations.

He was taken to Lawrence County Jail where he awaits a bond hearing.
