First Alert Weather: arctic chill loosens grip, rain chances to return soon

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - As an arctic air mass retreats, temperatures and rain chances will grow in the coming days.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Expect clear to partly cloudy skies, light winds, and temperatures not quite as low as recent nights (near-steady upper 20s and low 30s through daybreak). 

THURSDAY: Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies. Rain chances will grow to near 40%. Temperatures will likely reach the mid and upper 50s for highs amid light northeast breezes.

FRIDAY: Temperatures will likely break into the 60s. Also expect variable clouds, light south or east breezes, and the chance of showers to remain near 40%.

SATURDAY: Warm and muggy south breezes will flow. Expect clouds and highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Shower and thundershower chances: 40% early, 60% late.

SUNDAY: Rain chances will trend down, but perhaps not quite to zero. Also expect a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the 60s.
