Arkansas falls to Texas A&M in SEC opener

FAYETTEVILLE - The Razorbacks dropped their first SEC contest on the road at Texas A&M, trailing by double digits for the first time in seven games in a 69-53 loss.

Junior Rashad Madden was the Razorbacks' sole double-digit scorer, finishing with 12 points on 4-of-6 from the field as well as two assists and two rebounds. Freshman Bobby Portis was held to seven points after scoring in double digits the last nine consecutive games.

Senior Coty Clarke grabbed 10 boards to lead Arkansas, who was out rebounded 48-32. The Razorbacks were held to under 40 percent shooting in the second half for the first time this season. This road contest also marked the first time Arkansas did not score 70+ points in a contest.

The Razorbacks will return to Bud Walton Arena to face the #10 Florida Gators on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 12 p.m on ESPN2.
