POINSETT COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A Harrisburg man was taken to a Jonesboro hospital after police said his wife stabbed him.

According to Detective Chris Crews with the Poinsett County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a call at 7:44 p.m. on Thursday about a domestic dispute on Highway 14 east.

Two minutes later, a woman called back and told deputies her husband was stabbed at the same address.

Officers said the husband, Joshua Chapell, ran from the scene into nearby woods.

Joshua was taken to Northeast Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro for his injuries. Detective Crews said Joshua was in stable condition.

Detective Crews said Joshua's wife, August Chapell, was taken to the Poinsett County Jail.

August attended a probable cause hearing and was charged with a felony of domestic battery. She had a surety bond set at $25,000 and a circuit court date set for February 28.

Court documents show August is out on bond.
