SEMO man seriously hurt after car plunges into creek

GREENVILLE, MO (KAIT) – A Southeast Missouri man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning.

The crash occurred at 5 a.m. on Highway A, two miles south of Greenville, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Michael L. Winchester, 23, of Ellsinore was northbound when his 2008 Kia Rio ran off the left side of the road.

The car struck two road signs and the end of a bridge before plunging down the embankment into a creek.

Winchester, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries.

He was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
