Local bands wanted for fundraising concert

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) – If you have ever dreamt of performing before a live audience, then you have until Friday, Jan. 24, to sign up for the upcoming "Support Live Music" fundraising concert.

Hosted by the Arts Council of Mississippi County, the program will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. at The Ritz Civic Center, 306 West Main St. in Blytheville.  Admission to the show is $5.

The council is soliciting bands and individual singers to perform.  Priority will be given to those who are new to the program.  No more than 5 bands or performers will be accepted.

"This is not karaoke," said Ken Jackson of the Arts Council.  "All performers will play their own music."

Those selected will perform on stage with professional lighting and sound systems to enhance their performance.

Those interested in performing should contact The Ritz at (870) 762-1744 or email artsmissco@yahoo.com.
