WBC Lady Eagles soar by Stephens in blowout fashion, hosts Missouri Baptist Tuesday night

Over the weekend, the Williams Baptist College Lady Eagles basketball team traveled to Columbia, Mo. to take on the Stars of Stephens College. The AMC showdown saw Williams win its third conference game of the season, defeating Stephens by a final score of 90-33.
WBC started on a 14-4 run in the opening frame and out-scored the Stars 46-13 in the second half, putting the contest out of reach for Stephens.
The 90-point scoring outburst and the 57-point margin of victory set new season highs. As a team, Williams shot 50% from the field compared to just 22% for the Stars. The Lady Eagles also out-rebounded Stephens 44-27.
For WBC, ten different players scored in the game and five players finished in double figures. Cheyenne Childers led all scorers with 17 points. Meagan Goza addeda double-double of 16 points and 10 boards and Kimberly Wise contributed with 12 points. Alexus Clardy and Tieara Burks finished with 10 points, respectively. Jenna Zmyslony posted 15 points to lead Stephens (0-11, 0-5).
The win improves Williams to 7-5 overall and 3-3 in the American Midwest Conference. The next scheduled match for the Lady Eagles is against AMC foe Missouri Baptiston Tuesday, January 14th. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and the game will be played at Walnut Ridge, in WBC's Southerland-Mabee Center.
