KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Authorities are investigating after two people were killed in a triple shooting on the city's southeast side.

Kansas City police were called about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday to Blue Parkway and Hardesty Avenue on a reported shooting.

They say their initial reports indicate people in a silver Hyundai began shooting at the three male occupants of a red pickup truck. Three victims in their 30s were taken to the hospital. Two died and the third has minor injuries.

The two people who were killed were identified the following day as 33-year-old Deon Drew and 21-year-old Rollonn Gordon.

Chopper 5 video showed the extent of the damage. The driver's side door was riddled with at least a dozen bullet holes and the truck's window was shot out.

"From what we can tell, the vehicle pulled up beside it and shot into this truck several times. According to a witness, the suspect vehicle we have info on is a silver Hyundai with its back window shot out. The witness said they thought they shot their own back window out," said Capt. Tye Grant with the Kansas City, MO, Police Department.

A woman whose son was killed by violence two years ago came to the area to support the worried families who gathered, waiting to find out the names of those killed.

"It's horrible. They have no respect for the city or human life itself. We need to speak up. If you see the car, come forth and let police know where the car is or if you know who's driving it, come forward," said Rosilyn Temple.

Temple is now a part of the Ad Hoc Mothers in Charge support group. She added that it's scary to see that Kansas City is getting off to a deadly start in 2014 and that needs to change.

"We have had six homicides in 2014, we need help. Help Kansas City step forward and get that car off the streets today," she said.

Police are looking for the silver Hyundai and its occupants. It left the scene traveling south on Hardesty.
