Arkansas State Police say two people died Monday morning when their vehicles collided on U.S. Highway 63 near Trumann.

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville man was arrested after giving officers fake information and then fleeing the scene.

Around 2:30 Thursday afternoon, police said they pulled over a Ford Explorer on Cane Run Road because the vehicle didn't have visible registration plates. The driver of the vehicle didn't have his driver's license on him, but gave police a name, social security number and date of birth.

The officer said he advised Rickie Harrison, 26, that giving false information is against the law. Harrison told police he understood and that the information was correct.

While checking the information, the officer said Harrison got out of the car and said his actual birthday was different than the previous. The name that matched the original information was someone with a completely different physical description and was from Lexington.

When officers approached the vehicle to confront Harrison, he began rolling the windows up at which point the officer opened the door, grabbed Harrison's arm and asked him to exit the car.

The arrest slip states Harrison began driving away until the officer had to let go of his arm. A pursuit between the officer and Harrison began. Harrison swerved behind a loaded school bus and off the road. He was able to correct and get back on the roadway continuing the chase. Eventually, the Explorer began smoking and Harrison slowed down and opened the door as if to continue on foot.

Harrison and the car didn't stop until they went into a ditch, eventually hitting a utility pole. He exited the Explorer and landed face down without trying to flee. When police made contact, he resisted arrest by pulling his arms towards his stomach. His identity was finally acknowledged and police discovered his license was suspended.

Harrison is being charged with wanton endangerment of a police officer, wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, theft of identity of another without consent, resisting arrest, no registration plates, operating on suspended license and failure of owner to maintain required insurance.
