LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Arkansas Department of Health is working to determine the availability of flu vaccine in Arkansas.
The department has 107,500 doses of the vaccine, 45,000 of those doses will be provided to Arkansas nursing homes. Because of the vaccine shortage, the department says local health units will only give local flu shots to people in high-risk categories. Those in high-risk categories include people older than 65, infants from six months to 23 months, people with lung or heart disorders, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems.
