POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) - The Eddie Mae Herron Center in Pocahontas hosted a re-enactment of the "I have a Dream" speech Saturday in honor of Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Day.
Speaker Cecil Gibson, from Little Rock, recited the speech for an audience of about 60 people.
Pat Johnson is the director of the museum and said they wanted to have this event to recognize Dr. King and what he did for this nation. She added that it's important to teach younger generations about the civil rights movement.
"So many of our young people do not know the struggle that so many people had back in the 60's," said Johnson.
The museum will also sponsor a march on Monday.
