Ole Miss' Henderson and Texas A&M's Fitzgerald earn weekly SEC Basketball honors

Ole Miss' Marshall Henderson, a 6-foot-2, 177-pound senior guard from Hurst, Texas, was named SEC Player of the Week after averaging 22 points, 3.5 assists, two rebounds and two steals in wins against LSU and at South Carolina. He scored 25 points - hit 6-of-12 from behind the arc - and dished out a career-high seven assists in first action since returning from suspension in the Rebels' overtime win against LSU Wednesday. Henderson scored 19 points after halftime and hit a crucial 3-pointer in overtime that gave the Rebels' a lead they would not relinquish. He scored 19 points including 16 in the second half as Ole Miss overcame a 10-point halftime deficit at South Carolina. Also added three steals as the Rebels won in Columbia for the first time since 2001.

Texas A&M's Davonte Fitzgerald, a 6-foot-7, 201-pound freshman forward from Atlanta, Ga., was named SEC Freshman of the Week after averaging 16.5 points on nearly 60 percent shooting from the field and 3.5 rebounds against South Carolina and Mississippi State. Fitzgerald went 6-for-7 from the floor to contribute 13 points with three rebounds against South Carolina. He produced his biggest offensive output of the season on Saturday at Mississippi State, finishing with a career-best 20 points with four rebounds while playing a personal best 32 minutes against the Bulldogs.
