Mountain View man sentenced on domestic battery charges

MOUNTAIN VIEW, AR (KAIT) – A Stone County man was sentenced earlier this year to six years in prison after being convicted of felony domestic battery, according to documents filed in Stone County Circuit Court.

Court documents stated that Jonathan W. Hunt, 26, of Stone County plead guilty to domestic battery and sentenced to 72 months in the Arkansas Department of Correction. Hunt was also ordered to pay more than $2,000 in fines and court costs.

According to police, Hunt got into an argument with a woman and beat her. After his arrest, Hunt was charged with domestic battery, rape and false imprisonment. The rape and false imprisonment charges were not prosecuted because the victim would not cooperate in the prosecution, documents stated.
