WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) – The road to Williams Baptist College will soon be a lot less bumpy.
Fulbright Avenue from Highway 67 to the college's main entrance is 70 years old.
According to Brett Cooper, vice president for institutional advancement, the concrete road is "narrow and very bumpy."
During its regular meeting on Friday, Jan. 16, WBC's board of trustees learned the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department plans to widen and resurface the road.
The project, estimated to cost $200,000, will be fully funded and engineered through AHTD's State Aid Street Program.
Plans call for the road to be paved with asphalt and widened from 20 to 28 feet.
Highway department officials will announce construction dates in the coming weeks.
