SEARCY, AR (KAIT) – Two Texans have been charged after a Searcy man was robbed and shot in a parking lot.
According to Corporal Steve Hernandez with Searcy police, Johnny Patton, 27, and Amanda Hampton, 27, both of Arlington will be charged.
Patton's charges include first degree aggravated robbery and battery. Hampton will be charged with first degree accomplice to aggravated robbery and battery.
A third suspect mentioned earlier by police will not be charged, Hernandez said.
Three suspects were arrested on Sunday after a pursuit with Arkansas State Police which began in southwest Arkansas and ended in Texas.
On Jan. 24, Shane Looney of Searcy was sent to a hospital when he was shot in a Searcy store parking lot. Police said on Saturday Looney made it through surgery and is recovering.
Hernandez said Looney was trying to sell a ring on Craigslist and told the suspects to meet him at the parking lot. He was shot in the stomach after meeting the suspects.
No bond or court date has been set for Patton and Hampton yet. Both are awaiting extradition back to Searcy.
