SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

They are two things almost that almost anyone can relate to, love and food. A local author and cook has found a unique way to connect the two.

Tonya Jacob-Haggerty held a book signing Saturday at the Willow Chute Baptist church in Shreveport to promote her new cook book, "Silhouette of a Southern Cook- How Cooking Relates to Relations".

Her cookbook not only has dishes that are easy to prepare, but also looks at how food and food courses compares to relationships.

Jacob-Haggerty says, "At times we tend to look at food dishes and refuse them because of the way they may look, and we do the same thing sometimes when we meet people.  We prejudge them on their appearance before we really get to know them."

She also gives biblical references on how the two are related and much more.  She says the main point of the book is to bring relationships together one meal at a time.
