Seven fire stations unite to put out Raceland fire

RACELAND, La. (WVUE) - Seven fire stations responded to a house fire that burned for six hours last night.

Fire fighters were on the scene of a fire at 122 Cherry Court just after 9 p.m. last night and after sizing up the blaze, Fire Chief Todd Detillier called for back up. According to a statement from Lafourche Fire District #1 volunteers from Lafourche Fire District #1, Lockport Volunteer Fire Department, Vacherie-Gheens Volunteer Fire Department, Lafourche Crossing 308 Volunteer Fire Department, Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department, Bayou Blue Volunteer Fire Department and Coteau Fire Department worked until 3 a.m. this morning putting out the flames.

Over 60 firefighters were on the scene at one point.

Everyone in the house escaped safely, though two firefighters sustained minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
