CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

A number of CAER alarm sirens were activated Sunday night and the hi-low tone could be heard throughout the Lake area.

According to Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Director, Dick Gremillion, authorities are investigating why the sirens were activated.  The tone that was heard was not a shelter in place tone according to Gremillion.  He says the tone is one that is not used by OEP and they will be investigating why it went off.
