1 dead, 3 injured in southeast MO crash

ALTON, MO (KAIT) – A woman and three minors were involved in deadly accident over the weekend in Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Marie A. Rudd, 50, of Alton was killed after the van she was driving went off the right side of the road and hit a tree. The crash happened just before 8 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 160 near Alton.

Two girls and a boy, ages 14 to 11, were in the van at the time of the crash.

The girls were sent to an Oregon County hospital with moderate injuries. The boy, listed as having serious injuries, was airlifted to a Springfield, MO hospital.

Troopers state Rudd was the only person not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
