SEARCY, AR (KAIT) – A Region 8 man is behind bars accused of two home invasions on the same street within three days.

John Miles, 29, of Searcy is charged with residential burglary, aggravated residential burglary and theft of property.

According to investigators with the Searcy Police Department, on Thursday, Jan. 16, Miles forced his way into a home in the 500-block of Joyce Street.

The victim told police she heard a knock at the door.  When she went to answer, she claimed a masked man, carrying a pistol, forced his way into her home.

The victim ran out of the home to a neighbor's residence and called 911.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

Three days later, on Jan. 19, officers were called to a second home in the 500-block of Joyce Street regarding another home invasion.

When officers arrived, according to an email from Chief Jeremy Clark, they found Miles inside the home.

Miles is currently being held at the White County Law Enforcement Center in lieu of $60,000.  He is due in court on March 4.
