ASU launches new student-run radio station

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The College of Media and Communications at Arkansas State has a new program to help students achieve their broadcasting goals.

Red Wolf Radio, an online, student-operated radio station launched Monday morning.

Bethany Gallimore, a student DJ for Red Wolf Radio, is excited to be one of the first students to broadcast from the new station.

"We can play the kind of music that we like. We can make it entirely specific to the feedback that we get and really do exactly what we want," said Gallimore.  "This is really an amazing opportunity for all of us as students to contribute to something that is one big project for all of us."

Red Wolf Radio is separate from KASU. Students have full control of content and management.

"KASU is not student run," said Larz Roberts, Red Wolf Radio advisor. "Though the students can get involved with KASU, it wasn't really a true outlet for the student population here on campus. So Red Wolf Radio is going to fill that need and it's here."
