Ryan Vaughan delivers donation check to Children's Shelter

WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) – America's favorite forecaster presented a donation to the Children's Shelter of Walnut Ridge.

In January, Ryan Vaughan, chief meteorologist at Region 8 News, competed in weatherist.com's "America's Favorite Weather Forecaster" contest against dozens of meteorologist across the nation. In order to win, a weather forecaster had to receive the most online votes. Vaughan gained the victory with over 34,000 votes.

For winning the competition, Vaughan received $500 to donate to the charity of his choice, The Children's Shelter.

Not only did the people of Region 8 vote in force to help Vaughan win, but they raised nearly $5,000 to the Children's Shelter.

Vaughan gives special thanks to all who voted for him and donated to the shelter. "Region 8 is a pretty cool place," he said. "None of this would have been possible without you."
