NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Frigid temperatures have taken a major toll on part of the Nashville skyline, specifically the Sheraton on Union Street.

A worker with Serv Pro told Channel 4 after pipes froze, the hotel flooded twice a little more than a week ago. Water got into many of the rooms. A dumpster is set on the street where workers are putting carpet torn out of the rooms.

No one is currently staying at the hotel. Several visitors said they arrived to find their reservations canceled, but they said hotel staff told them this was due to already scheduled renovations.

The flooding happened just as the Sheraton is undergoing a $3 million renovation with major changes happening to the main entrance and lobby.

According to an official with Winter Construction Company, the Sheraton's pipes burst in the penthouse, but the flooded rooms shouldn't slow their ongoing renovation of the hotel.

Representatives for the Sheraton did not return repeated calls for comment on the flooding.
