STEELE, MO (KAIT) – Two men were arrested accused of breaking into a vehicle, taking a handgun and electronics.
On Tuesday, Steele police received word that a vehicle on North First Street had been broken into. A .32-caliber handgun, an iPad, a watch and a camera were stolen from the vehicle.
According to Chief Billy Joe Stanfield, an officer noticed two "suspicious men" walking on North First Street.
The two men, a 23 year old and a 19 year old from Marble Hill, were confronted by the officer. The handgun and other items were found in their possession.
Both men were taken to the Pemiscot County Jail and have been charged with tampering with a motor vehicle, stealing and unlawful use of a weapon.
Police are withholding the names of the suspects until the issuance warrant has been attained from the Pemiscot County prosecuting attorney.
