3 killed in crash on Vietnam Veterans Parkway

HENDERSONVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Authorities have identified the three people killed in a four-car crash Thursday morning on Vietnam Veterans Parkway.

Hendersonville police said Tyler A. Schultz, 24, Rafael Coto, 23, and Heather L. Clinard, 24, all of Hendersonville, died in the accident, which happened about 2 a.m.

Police say an Impala rear-ended another car just past Exit 2 and the Impala spun out of control on impact. According to police, another car hit the Impala head on and another car sideswiped them.

Police say none of the people who died were wearing their seat belts and that speed was a factor.

No alcohol was found at the scene.

One person involved in the crash was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Four other victims were taken to Hendersonville Medical Center where they were treated and released.

Eastbound lanes were closed for several hours and traffic was diverted while officials investigated.

The investigation is continuing.
