Evacuation order lifted after propane gas leak in Little River County, AR

LITTLE RIVER COUNTY, AR (KSLA) -

Arkansas State Police say an evacuation has ended after a propane gas leak in Little River County Wednesday night.

Police say around 6 p.m., a propane truck crashed on AR Highway 41 at the crossroads between Forman and Horatio, Arkansas. Propane spilled onto the roadway from the truck. Officials said residents within three miles of the crash were evacuated from their homes as a precaution. Officials were concerned the leak could have led to an explosion.

The highway was closed as hazmat crews worked to clear the scene. The roads were reopened at 1 a.m. Thursday and the evacuation was lifted.
