LITTLE ROCK (Governor.Arkansas.gov) - Governor Mike Beebe today named Dr. Tim Langford of Little Rock to the Arkansas State University Board of Trustees.
"From the moment Tim arrived in Jonesboro as a student athlete, his commitment to ASU has never wavered, and indeed has grown stronger along with his professional achievements," Beebe said. "His previous service to colleges and universities statewide shows his dedication to higher education, and now he will get to focus on the university that helped him succeed."
Dr. Langford, 53, practices at Arkansas Urology in Little Rock. Originally from Searcy, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree from ASU, while also playing football and being named an all-conference quarterback. After graduating, he attended UAMS for his medical training and eventually became the hospital's chief urology resident. Governor Beebe previously appointed Langford to the Arkansas Coordinating Board of Higher Education, a post Langford will leave to join the ASU Board.
Langford's appointment expires January 14, 2019. He replaces Michael Gibson on the Board.
