TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office arrested three individuals Friday on multiple charges including shoplifting $334 of merchandize and possession of several rounds of ammunition and a methamphetamine pipe.

Officers were alerted Friday afternoon of a shoplifting at the Walgreens on Hunt Highway in Sun Tan Valley. When deputies arrived, they saw 22-year-old Miguel Nino running towards a red Pontiac Grand Am.

A deputy approached the vehicle and saw a bin full of allegedly stolen items. Two people were also in the car, 19-year-old Lynasie Connally in the front seat and a 16-year-old boy in the backseat.

The deputy handcuffed the 16-year-old and Nino got into the driver's seat of the car. The deputy told Nino to get out of the car and the 16-year-old attempted to flee the scene. Nino started the car and drove away from the deputy.

More officers arrived and followed Nino in the car. A car chase lasted for 45 minutes, ending in farm fields near Sierra Vista Road and Bella Vista Road. Nino and Connally ran from the car and hid from officers. A police dog was able to track them and they were found hiding in the bushes.

The 16-year-old boy was also found and charged with shoplifting, escape and trespassing.

Nino admitted to using cocaine and methamphetamines prior to arrest. He was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, unlawful flight, reckless driving, aggravated DUI, shoplifting and possession of stolen property. Connally was charged with shoplifting and aggravated assault.  They were both taken to Pinal County Jail.
