JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The snow and sleet on Sunday made for hazardous conditions all the way through Monday morning.

"It was kind of rough coming in last night," said Martin Lutz.

Lutz works the night shift at Kroger and said the roads are just as bad today.

"On this road here, it's been kind of rough getting out of here," he said.

Lutz said he noticed that the less traveled roads were the most dangerous to drivers.

"On a one to ten, the back roads were probably about an eight so you just gotta be careful," said Lutz.

"Our driveway is pretty slick but then again there hasn't been a lot of traffic on it either," said Jonesboro resident, Charles Pratt.

"It's pretty slick all over," said William Jordan. Forecasters said the roads could get worse Monday night. "The sun's gonna come out and that's gonna make everything wet and it's gonna get slicker," said Pratt.

Everyone Region 8 caught up with agreed if you don't have to leave your home, don't.

"It's pretty bad out there," said Jordan. They said if you need to get out they have a few precautions they'd like to share.

"[When] taking off at stoplights and turning off at intersections, go slow and take your time," said Pratt.

"Don't be in a hurry," said Lutz. "Just go slow or you'll bang into someone."
