Searcy PD: Armed robbery suspect who fled on bike arrested

SEARCY, AR (KAIT) – Police in Searcy arrested an Augusta man in connection to an armed robbery last week.

According to the Searcy Police Department, officers were called out around 1 p.m. to the First Community Bank on Maple Drive in reference to an armed robbery.

Police said the man showed off a gun and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

A witness told police they saw the suspect leave the scene on a bicycle and disappear in the area of an apartment complex.

Corporal Steve Hernandez with the Searcy Police Department said officers arrested Octavius Anthony, 40, for robbing the First Community Bank.

Anthony was charged with aggravated robbery and was taken to the White County Law Enforcement Center.

His bond was set at $150,000 bond.
