BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Deputies in Baxter County arrested a woman on Sunday accused of stealing several cars.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, Vanessa Rennee Henschel, 21, was seen driving a car worth $4,500 right before it was reported stolen.

After it was reported, someone said the car was seen parked at a residence on Alpine Lane. Deputies met with Henschel and saw that she was carrying a black bag. When searching the bag, officers found driver licenses, credit cards, a license plate and numerous keys.

Henschel told police she borrowed one of the cars she had the keys for and took it to Peal's Resort in Salesville.

Deputies also found the keys of a Jeep that was reported stolen earlier Sunday morning from Peal's Resort.

The owner of the Jeep said his keys were inside his home before his car was stolen. Deputies then concluded that she had to enter a home in order to take the keys.

After an investigation,  Henschel was taken to the Baxter County jail on the following charges:

  • Residential burglary-Class B felony
  • One count of theft of property- Class C felony
  • Two counts of theft of property- Class D felonies

Henschel was held in lieu of $10,000 bond. She was scheduled to appear in court on February 6.

This isn't Henschel's first run in with the law.

We reported another arrest concerning her in the summer of 2013.
