JONESBORO (KAIT) - With the Super Bowl in the books, now teams turn their attention to the 2014 NFL Combine. One Red Wolf, four Razorbacks, and seven Tigers will show their skills in front of pro scouts.
Ryan Carrethers becomes the first ASU alum in 2 years to head to Indianapolis. He was selected to the All-Sun Belt 1st Team in 2013. The Tennessee native was 2nd on the team with 93 tackles, and led the Red Wolves with 4 sacks. Carrethers earned Bednarik & Outland watch list honors in the preseason. Kelcie McCray & Demario Davis were the last Red Wolves to participate in the NFL Combine (2012).
Four Razorbacks will head to Indianapolis later this month. Travis Swanson and Chris Smith look to impress the scouts even more, building momentum from a Senior Bowl appearance. Zach Hocker made 3 field goals as the East won the East-West Shrine Game. Robert Thomas was also selected. He's looking to bounce back from a broken leg suffered in a October loss to South Carolina.
New Madrid County alum Kony Ealy is one of seven Mizzou standouts invited to the Combine. The linebacker is projected to be a 1st-round draft pick. Ealy, Michael Sam, Henry Josey, Marcus Lucas, L'damian Washington, Justin Britt, and E.J. Gaines are all Combine-bound.
