City of Jonesboro names new sanitation superintendent

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A new sanitation superintendent for the city of Jonesboro was named on Thursday.

Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin announced Donnie Gibson will take over the position. Former Sanitation Superintendent Royce Leonard left the position open after he retired at the end of last year.

Gibson has been working for the City in the last 11 years as Sanitation Route Supervisor.

Gibson started in the new position at the beginning of February.

"Donnie not only knows the employees but also knows the entire operation of the Sanitation Department having served the last 8 years under Royce Leonard as his route supervisor," said Mayor Perrin. "We are very pleased to promote someone from within the City to fill this position."
