Fisher woman seriously injured in car accident

CROSS COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A single-car accident near the Cross and Poinsett County line leaves a Fisher woman seriously injured.

According to Sheriff J.R. Smith, a vehicle traveling south on Highway 1 near Cherry Valley went 230 feet off the roadway. The vehicle then hit an embankment and turned upside down; leaving the driver, Deanna Shelly, trapped inside.

Fisher's family said the last time they spoke with her was at 9:37 a.m. The Cross County Sheriff's Office received an emergency call around 12:30 p.m.

Fisher was taken to the Med in Memphis.
