JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A man was arrested Friday night after he called in a bomb threat to the Craighead County Detention Center.
According to court documents, Corkey Cooksey called the detention center about 35 times. In one of the calls Cooksey told deputies he had put a bomb inside the building.
In the other calls, he named individual deputies and their families, and also threatened them. Deputies saw that the phone number belonged to Cooksey's mother.
Deputies arrived at his mother's home and found that Cooksey was inside a car next to the home.
On Saturday, Cooksey told deputies he was upset that night and "drank a pint of alcohol," and that is why he made the calls.
He received a felony charge for two counts of terroristic threatening. He faced 35 counts of a misdemeanor for harassing communications and was also charged with communicating a false alarm. His bond was set at $100,000.
He is set to appear in court March 31 at 8:30 a.m.
