Oregon police ID thieves using stolen checks, 1 still on the run

OREGON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Oregon Police Department has identified two individuals who they say passed checks stolen during a burglary to a residence. One of them is in custody, but the other is still on the loose.

The two suspects are Daryl Livingston and Erma Pittman. Livingston has been arrested, but there is currently a warrant out for the arrest of Pittman.

Police say the two went to several stores writing bogus checks for hundreds of dollars. They say a victim had the checks stolen from her home back in January while she was on vacation. Credit cards, electronics and jewelry were also stolen.

"She's nervous about staying home alone now, and now she has someone out using her personal information and she doesn't know what else is going to come down the road," said Det. Mike Blazevich.

Oregon police say the suspects will be charged with identity fraud, forgery and receiving stolen property. An investigation is still ongoing because police are not sure if the two broke into the home and stole the checks. Anyone with more information can contact Det. Mike Blazevich at 419-698-7060.
