JONESBORO, Ark. (AStateRedWolves.com) — Arkansas State senior pitcher Bradley Wallace has been recognized by Perfect Game USA as one of the top 100 seniors in this year's collegiate baseball class.
Wallace was selected as the 28th best senior baseball player in the class of 2014 and the 16th best right-handed pitcher in the class. He was one of just two players from the Sun Belt Conference on the list with Louisiana-Lafayette first basemen Chase Compton ranking 61st.
Wallace earned preseason All-Sun Belt Conference honors earlier this week from CollegeSportsMadness.com after coming off the best season of his A-State career. As a junior the Rison, Ark., went 5-2 with a 4.33 ERA and struck out a career best 78 batters. He fanned a career-high 12 against Western Kentucky on April 7 and also retired 18 in a row during the game.
Wallace is one of five seniors on the A-State baseball team in 2014 and was recently chosen as one of the team captains. He and the Red Wolves baseball team open the regular season with a three-game series against Miami (Ohio) beginning Friday, Feb. 14 at Tomlinson Stadium.
Friday and Sunday's games can be heard on 95.3 FM The Ticket/970 AM KNEA, while Saturday's game will be broadcast on 101.3FM/1230AM KBTM due to conflicts with the Arkansas State women's basketball game at Louisiana-Lafayette.
Fans can purchase season tickets for all 31 home games with prices starting at $50 for general admission seating. Reserved chair seating is $75 while field level chair seating is $125. Special 4-pack options are available as well. For more information contact the A-State Ticket Office at 1.800.ASU.Fans or visit tickets.astate.edu.
